
Vantia Therapeutics' Pipeline - Pre-Clinical Programmes
Vantia Therapeutics' world-recognised expertise in protease inhibition, combined with its small molecule drug discovery capabilities, has led it to generate a pipeline of novel pre-clinical programmes.
The most advanced pre-clinical programmes target kallikrein, an important protein in signalling cascades that lead to inflammation. Vantia Therapeutics is investigating small molecules that target and inhibit two types of kallikrein:
- VA118020 is a small molecule inhibitor of tissue kallikrein in development as a potentially first-in-class oral therapy for inflammatory diseases that affect the respiratory system, such as COPD and asthma
- Vantia Therapeutics has identified a series of small molecule inhibitors of plasma kallikrein that offer an orally administered treatment option for the orphan disease hereditary angiodema (HAE), a potentially fatal genetic inflammatory condition
Vantia Therapeutics is also investigating inhibitors of Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP), which may have potential application in several cancers and fibrotic diseases.
